BiographyScott Dow, a resident of Doylestown, PA, has long sought the opportunity to introduce his football pool to the general public. With the help and support of his wife, Theresa, Dow finally pulled together a team of professionals that have made his idea a reality through the creation of the MyPointPool.com web site.
Dow has always had an entrepreneurial streak with MyPointPool being the third business he owned. Graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University in 1981, Dow worked in the utility and printing industries before co-founding a mechanical services company named Vibe-Assist in 1993. That company specialized in predictive maintenance at industrial sites specifically, the field of vibration analysis on machines.
Through those experiences, Dow was able to develop some training tools and classes that eventually helped him to become an internationally recognized trainer in his niche field. His love for developing games and generating competition spilled over into his professional work. The training class he developed was, in large part, a multi-day event that pitted teams of analysts against one another in interactive problem-solving contests.
In 2003, Dow sold his stake in his first Vibe-Assist to go solo with V-Trainer. That allowed him to focus his time exclusively on training and consulting services. Since early 2007, however, Dow has focused all of his time and energy on MyPointPool.com.
Dow grew up in Madison, N.J, and attended Madison High School before moving on to Bucknell, where he lettered in baseball for 3 years and set a couple of (short-lived) school doubles records. Despite his proximity to New York, he grew up an Oakland Raiders fan, falling in love with the action-packed, renegade style of Al Davis’ team in the late 1960s and early ’70s.
